A calming, no-rules creative process

There’s something really special about creating without a plan… just letting your hand move freely and seeing where it takes you. This intuitive scribble artwork is all about slowing down, trusting your instincts, and enjoying the process rather than focusing on the outcome. Using Ohuhu Nahuku Acrylic Markers, Katie created this piece by starting with simple, random marks and slowly building them into something layered, colourful, and expressive.
What You’ll Need
● Ohuhu Nahuku Acrylic Markers
● Paper or a sketchbook
● A relaxed mindset ✨

Step 1: Start with free Scribbles
Begin by making loose, random marks across your page. Don’t think too much about it—just let your hand move naturally.
These lines don’t need to “make sense” yet. They’re simply the foundation of your artwork. They will create the base of your artwork.

Step 2: Let Shapes Appear
As you look at your scribbles, you might start to notice little shapes or sections forming. Start outlining or enhancing areas that stand out to you. This is where your artwork begins to evolve organically.

Step 3: Build Colour Slowly
Now begin adding colour using your Nahuku Acrylic Markers.
Work intuitively:
● Fill in sections
● Add pops of contrast
● Let colours overlap and interact
Don’t worry about perfection—uneven edges and layering are what make it feel alive.

Step 4: Layer & Add Detail
Continue building on your piece by layering lines, dots, patterns, or textures.
You can:
● Repeat shapes for rhythm
● Add fine details over colour
● Play with thick vs thin lines
This stage is all about depth and movement.

Step 5: Let It Come Together
Step back and observe your piece. Add any final touches where it feels needed—but try not to overwork it.
Sometimes the most beautiful parts are the unexpected ones ✨
Now try it yourself !

This process is less about creating a “perfect” artwork and more about enjoying the act of creating itself. It’s calming, freeing, and a really lovely way to reconnect with your creativity—especially when you feel stuck or overthinking.
The Ohuhu Nahuku Acrylic Markers make this process even more satisfying with their smooth flow, vibrant colour, and ability to layer beautifully. Put on some music, grab your markers, and just start.
No plan, no pressure—just create.
